Custom Wedding Aisle Runner

After a long break from blogging I am back. I hope to share some of my wedding crafts with those who are looking to save money or like to create things just like myself. I don't want to bombard you with pictures of everything just things that people who attended my wedding thought was unique.

First up "Custom Aisle Runner"

The project itself was a bit tedious but after I was done I found another option for those that do not have a steady hand like me. If you search custom aisle runners depending on how elaborate you would like yours to be prices can range from  $50 dollars on up. My aisle runner cost me $23 bucks. Yes that's right!

Here is a picture at its debut

I received so many compliments even with my mistake that no one noticed but me. I do not have the actual step by step pictures in totality but I can share how I created this if anyone is interested.  For those that are wondering what products were used below is the simple list:

flower aisle runner-purchased from eBay for $19
acrylic paint in cobalt blue and teal-purchased from Joann or Michael's 2 for $1.00 sale
Wax paper to go under aisle runner- $1.00 dollar from dollar store
Paint brushes I already had but I advise if you paint to get good brushes it would cut the time in half
Stencil- I had this stencil from another project but you can make a monogram in Word or other program of choice. My font was Chopin Script.

If you don't want to paint they have paint markers which are easier to use!

Always to remember to use your coupons when shopping at JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's to save more on the things you love!

Theme Weddings

To all Brides to Be and Brides at Heart! Will you be planning a theme wedding? I am, I have been researching wedding ideas for the past 10 months and I am finally at the 9 months to go mark where my transformation from Miss to Mrs. will occur.  By no means will I have a traditional wedding because we will not be getting married inside of a church and my dad who just recently passed away I will now be walking myself down the aisle. However, I have changed what I wanted numerous times to go back to the original designs I started at the beginning stages of planning. Here are some ideas that I came across in my research.

Wedding Themes:
Vintage

Carnival

Garden
Whimsical

These are so beautiful and creative. What did I choose? a mixture of Garden and Whimical because of my fear of rain in an outdoor venue, I have to recreate the garden inside my venue while creating the whimiscal element. I will be incorporating candles, crystal branches, crepe paper fringe streamers, crystal beading and other elements. I will create many DIY projects that I will post along the way along with the materials and cost breakdowns.

Is there anyone else who is merging different elements into their day?

Wedding Excitement Venue Picked

Picking a venue was not all bad to say the least our first choice was on the infinity yacht. The inside was amazing. The inside was beautiful and a sunday cruise would have been great. However, I am sticking to my small budget and intimate wedding.

Drum roll please...
Here is our venue PI Banquet in Southfield, MI...The tasting we had yesterday was great and I am so excited!
